PLEASE update the forum's dictionary to include the word LabVIEW!

Solved!
Go to solution

I don't use it often, but when I select 'Check Spelling' the word LabVIEW is not found. The suggested replacment is labile:

la·bile play_w2("L0002800") (lbl, -bl)

adj.
1. Open to change; adaptable: an emotionally labile person.
2. Chemistry Constantly undergoing or likely to undergo change; unstable: a labile compound.

I can't decide which definition is more appropriate; I guess it depends on what I'm using LabVIEW for on a specific day... Smiley Happy

Not to mention other commonly used words like LV, VI, SubVI, NI, etc. Personally, I just don't use the spell checker and live with my misstakes (yes, that was on purpose).

I'll double-check, but I don't think there is any way for me to add terms to the universal dictionary.  However, you should be able to add your own terms by clicking the "Learn" button when you want to add something to the dictionary.  The values are stored in a browser cookie.  I tested this and it did seem to work - have you tried it?

I do that, but every so often, the cookies get deleted and it forgets everything. I also work on multiple computers, so it needs to be done in each one.

Interestingly enough, it seems like we can add some custom terms.  Any others requested beyond what is mentioned above?

Thanks,

Laura

Wow, that made me laugh 😉

I'm going to keep this open until the new year to make sure others that want to add to the list have time to do so.

Thanks!

I would suggest you ping R&D for a vocabulary, which they probably have somewhere, so that you can get words like lvlib, LVOOP, lvclass, XControl, Xnode, the various VI server classes, etc.

The terms I had added to the dictionary should now be available in the spell checker.

Thanks,
