I still have problems with this. If I attempt to insert a smiley at the very end of my text, I can click and click on the emoticon in the popup and it does not get inserted into the body. But if I move the cursor to the middle of the paragraph, it is more likely to work, and I cut-and-paste the  to the correct location. This behavior is present in both Chrome and IE8.

I havent seen it recently, but I used to enjoy when people were trying to ask techincal questions

and accidentally inserted smiley faces. This happened often when typing in addresses.

For example ABD: P125

The colon followed by 'P' would make a , it always caught me off guard 

Edit: Haha, it still does if I remove the space between the colon and P

I have often tried to enclose a ":smilelywink :" within (parentheses), only to find the last colon and close-parenthesis forming the "happy" smiley. You must put a space after the "wink" to get the correct behavior.

Example, correct:

(parenthetical sarcastic remark  ) 

Example, incorrect:

(parenthetical sarcastic remark ) 

I guess the smileyparser didn't go through a proper Unit Test or the Usability Department at Lithium.
