Problems (lock-up or freeze) with Avant Browser

Just an FYI that I seem to have a lock-up or freeze problem occur quite often in Avant Browser.  Seems to happen when I reply to a post.  Avant version 11.7 on Windows XP.

Instead of using a browser that 99.99% of computer users have never heard of, try using Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Version 11.7?  That means it is really old (which I doubt because I would have probably heard of it before) or so buggy they've made dozens to hundreds of revisions to it to try to get it to work!Smiley WinkSmiley Very Happy

Avant browser is actually based internet explorer, so things should not be too different. Have you tried the avant forum?

Firefox is my primary browser, but when you want multiple Gmail accounts open at the same time you wind up using many different browsers.  Just thought someone might want to know about the problem.  It seems to be very repeatable.

I haven't checked with other browsers, but at least in IE7, you can have multiple Gmail accounts open at the same time if you open several browser windows. This might not work if you set up Gmail to remember you, so that it logs in automatically and then you have to sign out explicitly in order to sign in using a new account.

Useful side topic.

We don't use IE, mostly because it is the most popular target of hackers, but I have tested in Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Avant.  Since all instances of each share the same cookies, I can't seem to have multiple gmail accounts open at the same time in different tabs or windows of the same browser.  Honestly, in Avant I can't even figure out how to open multiple windows.

One exception is that in Chrome you can start an incognito session, which can have 1 other gmail account open, so in Chrome I can have 2 gmail accounts open at the same time.

I have heard that there might be a solution in Firefox having to do with profiles and a "no remote" option.  Will try to find out more.

Firefox help says only one profile is used at a time, so that does not seem like a solution.
