Threads Marked for Deletion

I'm starting this thread as a repository of links to threads that were originally posted on the wrong board. An "incorrect board post" qualifies for deletion if it was reposted to the correct board where it received a decent answer, and the original post links to that new post (source for this definition: here and here).

I would also add (this is my opinion) that posts in the wrong board that are several years old that were not reposted in the correct board also qualify for deletion. The user never found it important enough to ask in the correct forum, and since it's years old the thread should be dead. No value added by the thread, no value lost by deleting it. (Actually value gained since overall forum SNR increases.) 

After Laura or another moderator deletes the incorrect posts, I would appreciate if they edit this thread's post by striking out the deleted links. Thanks!

I have replied to many of the above threads with the link for the correct repost: this seems to be stirring up a lot of old muck, but hopefully that's only temporary (hopefully they'll be deleted).

Perhaps, instead of posting the repost link on those threads, simply tagging them as "marked_for_deletion" would suffice? I mean, if they're going to be deleted, might as well not stir up the muck before skimming it, better to leave it on the bottom.

Suggestions?

Ummm.... Boards Marked for Deletion? This whole board qualifies for "Funny Threads." There are 5 threads on the board: the "Welcome to this board!" thread, and four that are posted on the wrong forum. The "Welcome to this board!" thread only has one response: "there is no people at all".

Jack,

I know you are responding to your message and Laura's reply here.  But I don't think it is worth the time and effort.  I wouldn't bother dredging up all this old muck.  I would just use Laura's advice for anything new that comes along.
