Weird floating "save"

In this thread there's a strange floating "save" that on Firefox appears as a button, but on IE it appears as floating text. According to the page source it's a <span> tag. The weird thing is that when I was replying to the message, the "save" also appeared on the editor right over the alignment buttons.

While checking this forum I noticed I had never provided the link to the thread with the weird floating object. The thread is:

I see it as well in IE as floating text.

The original poster must have been doing something strange while posting originally in firefox.  The offending piece of HTML looks like this.

Using the latest Firefox, I also see it as a weird "save".

There was some HTML causing the icon - I removed it.
