I don't know whether somebody reported(requested) this.
Lot of troubles (difficulties) in using new forum (am using Internet Explorer 😎
1) "Submit post" button will get locked and won't accept second keypress. But now its not so.
2) Insert/Edit link is now difficult. When you select a particular text in the compose box and when you click "Insert/Edit Link", the text will get automatically updated in the Link Text, but now its not the case.
3) Smileys always got placed in the first line. Really irritating do a cut and paste.
Many more user-friendly options are missing

Hi mathan,
I will report these issues. It looks like IE8 is still in beta, so it is understandable that there are some issues in using it. As it becomes a standard browser, I am sure Lithium will make changes so that it works well with the forums.
Thanks,

Make sure you turn on compatibility mode for this website.
(Have you upgrader to IE8 RC1?)

Dear Christian,
What is IE8 RC1? No i haven't upgraded. How to do that? How to turn on compatibility for this website?

RC1: "Release candidate 1". Has been out for a while already.
To enable compatibility view, press the button next to the address bar as shown in the image.

It's time for you to switch to Firefox. 😉
I am noticing that most things I would complain about the forum are not as prominent when using Firefox.
For instance, clicking on the reply button does not cause a 2nd refresh which erases all of what I just typed. Although just for the first few seconds (2 or 3 maybe), it was still annoying. I didn't see it this morning while using Firefox.
The forum "appeared" more stable last night. I was using IE at the time.

Thanks for the suggestion JLV ( I like to call you as JLV rather than JoeLabVIEW or Ray.R. Also in my personal opinion, me and others who are watching you long time, dont like the icon which you are having right now. i prefer the old one - the patch in the eye. Sorry if i was wrong.).
Meantime, i tried Internet Explorer RC1 suggested by Altenbach and submit button issue was not found.
Thanks all,
Mathan

I have posted a few replies this morning using Firefox.
Works well...
(finally)
Giving kudos still doesn't work when using the client's PC. Oh well..
Yeah... the icon is in transition.. I had good news last Friday. The vision is returning in my right eye.. Maybe the eye-patch would be grey instead of black.. 😉
I hope to see again sometime this summer. (seeing means better than 20/50 vision & no white cloud in front of the macula).

It does not show up on all web sites, but it should show up in the forums. Have you updated to the newest version?
Here's what I have:
