username_not_in_use?

My username (obviously) has _not_in_use appended to it. I didn't do this myself, so I'm guessing it was some automatic thing. How do I change it back?

Click on the "My Profile" link in the bottom left corner of this page (not the one near the top of the page). It will take you to a page where you can select "Modify Profile". You'll have to log in if you haven't already, but eventually you'll get to your profile details. There you can modify your Alias.

The method that Donald suggested to change your profile is correct. To permanently change your alias/username, you need to change it in your NI User Profile.

1. Go to www.ni.com/profile
2. Click Modify Profile and edit your Alias

As soon as you save your changes and login to the forums again, your alias will be updated.
