1601 Security Password

When setting and saving network security, I get prompted for a password. I'm not sure what password should be used. Any Ideas?

Thanks, Mark

Hi,

You probably have a controller which has been set to have a password, in Fieldpoint Explorer when you find FP controllers in the network you have the chance to set the password for it, something like a protection, so that only the password owner can modify its settings (right click on the serial number and chose the option "Lock/Unlock Device").
If you don't have the password you may want go ahead and reset the fieldpoint completelly and start from scratch so that you have the device unlock.

In order to reset the device go ahead and follow the instructions in the Controller Manual on the section "Resetting the FP controller".

After that, you may want to setup your own password.

Regards

Andre, I'm having this problem when in Fieldpoint Explorer. After configuring the 1601 and attched I/Os, an option to grant / restrict IP access to the 1601 available under "network security". Clicking on this button opens another window offering the IP security settings. Upon finishing these settings, you must save them. This is the point where you are asked for a password. I have tried an empty and the admin password we use for Lookout, but as you can guess, no luck. The documentation also indicates the need for a password, but does not indicate a default password or how to establish one. Again, any help would be great. Thanks, Mark

I just ran into the same issue. Was anyone able to find a resolution to this problem?

I finally figured out the somewhat convoluted method to set the security password.
From the Remote System Explorer in Fieldpoint, right click on the appropriate network module and choose "lock/unlock". If there was no previous password set, it will pop up a box asking you to enter the new password twice, then click OK. It will then tell you the configuration of the 1601 module has been locked and you can exit out of the RSE. The lock password you just set is the password you will need to use to change the network security settings.
