Can I update startup.exe on an FP-2000 w/o Labview?

I want to set up a Fieldpoint system (FP-2000) with a program that runs automatically, and place it at a customer's site that has no internet access or Labview development system. Then, I'd like to be able to update the startup.exe file and any support files that are required. I've tried to simulate this by switching between 2 versions of the application through FTPing a new startup.exe file, but I lose the capability to run automatically when I do this. A better path would be to build an installer with application builder that would set up the FP-2000 directly from a non-labview computer, but I'm pretty sure that won't work. Worst case it might be possible to ship the FP-2000 back to me for upgrade, but I'd rather
ship software. Any suggestions? Thanks!

James S,

Thank you for using the discussion forums here at ni.com. Rather than building the executable on your host PC, I suggest the following course of action:

First, build the executable on one of the FP-2000's in your possession. Next, ftp the contents of the NI-RT/STARTUP/ directory to your host machine. These files can then be ftp'd to the corresponding directory on the desired FP-2000.

Before attempting this, you should verify that the firmware is the same version on both FP-2000s used.
