I have a new cFP-2200 controller which I can see in can see in MAX. I have tried to create a new LabVIEW RealTime project.
When I get to the add target screen it does not fine the target, when I tell it to add new in crashes LabVIEW. I am running LabVIEW 8.6.

Hi rocke72,
I just want to clarify a couple things. When you say you can see the cFP-2200 in MAX, you mean that you can see it under Remote Systems, right? Are you connecting to it via a network or crossover cable? When you right-click your project in Project Explorer and select New»Targets and Devices, what do you see? Do you see a folder for Real-Time FieldPoint? When you select the New target or device radio button, is there a listing for FieldPoint? At what point exactly does LabVIEW crash?
Thank you for choosing National Instruments.

I start LabVIEW create new real time project see following .
It does not find any existing tagets so I try to add a new cFP2200 target as below then LabView Crashes every time

Try upgrading to a new version of fieldpoint drivers.
LV 8.6 came out in August 2008. Your FP 6.0.2 drivers are dated July 2008. Pretty close, but slightly older.
According to this link, you want to be at least 6.0.3.

Same problem here, but I have more recent version... LV8.6.1, FP 6.0.4 driver!
I see the cFP2200 in MAX, but can't add/find it in LabVIEW.

I was missing a step in my setup. Once you have turned off your wirewall, the MAX will discover the controller, then you have to tell it to Find Devices before your DAQ cards should up. A very simple but un documented step in the Quick start guide.

After support on telephone (they said that LV 6.4.1 needs real time version 6.4.1 (instead of 6.4.0 I had/have), so I put back in the DVD and couldn't find the update, so I installed everything 😄 haha what a way to solve problems.
After the installation, I could make a project, but still with RT 6.4.0 (didn't upgraded during installation apparently).
So my problem is solved, but don't know what or how caused the problem.

I am having the exact same problem on LabVIEW 2009 with a cFP2220 controller. An explanation from NI would by apriciated.

Hi søren hallberg jensen,
As noted earlier by Ravens Fan, having the correct version of the FieldPoint driver is important. Do you have 6.0.5 or 6.0.6 installed? If you do, have you installed any other drivers recently, such as NI-WSN or NI-RIO?
Thank you for choosing National Instruments.
