Cannot Process Install Because Other Dependencies are Required

Hi

I'm using a cFP-2120 with LabVIEW 7.1 and Run Time 7.1 Fieldpoint 4.1 and Max My problem is that my controler had LV 8.0 Real Time installed, so I formatted it and started to perform a software upgrade from MAX. The only components listed that could be upgraded were Datasocket and Visa, no OS. So I clicked to continue and I get the message

Cannot Process Install Because Other Dependencies are Required.

OK so I find that this is because I didnt install my FieldPoint driver from my supplied CD instead. I installed FieldPoint using my Device Drivers CDs which I assumed to contain everything required since the RT module requests them to install required components as well.

I'm a little confused regarding this statement from the above NI support

If you are using FieldPoint 4.1, you have to get the FieldPoint 4.1 CD in order to have these components installed. You will not be able to find these components in the FieldPoint 4.1 driver available on our website. You can only download those components from our website if you are using Field Point 4.0 or 4.0.1.

Huh?? Can I or can I not download the CD??

Not having my FieldPoint 4.1 CD that shiped with the controler I proceded to download FIELDPOINT41.zip from

Installing it it tells me it is "National Instruments FieldPoint 4.1" on the install banner, but the above support post suggests that it should be
"National Instruments FieldPoint 4.1 & LVRT software for [c]FP-20xx"

And looking at the install options I don't see the feature "Real-Time and Embedded"

So how do I obtain or download the CD or software I require for my cFP-2020 controler so that I can update the controler software?

That passage states that (unlike 4.0.1) the downloadable driver for 4.1 will not help you. I would suggest you try contacting your local NI office and have them mail (or email) it to you.

Thanks tst

I'll talk to them tomorrow.

This has been really frustrating, I've tried on two different computers, cleaned everything NI off one and re installed thinking there was some software conflict with the existing NI components installed. Its now 1 am and I'm exhausted from trying to solve this one and I have a demonstration to prepare for a major client that could potentialy buy a lot of NI hardware. I've spent all day just trying to update my controller software in the belief that the controler software was included within the device drivers CD, RT CD at least obtainable from the NI site.

Cheers

As another tip you might need, I ran into a problem once in installing the OS on an FP (I was switching back and forth between 2 LV versions) and the solution to that was to reload windows in safe mode and install the OS then. I don't know why, but that was the suggestion I got from NI back then and it seemed to be the solution.
