Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Before you reached step 3F where you selected the Install Software button, did you have any problems seeing the CVS or communicating with it? If you have it connected directly to your computer, then be sure that you are using a cross over cable and not a standard Ethernet cable. Once step 3E, where you set the IP address and reboot the system, is completed you should see a status in the status bar of MAX saying that you are "Connected - Running" the CVS. If there were any problems with these steps, then the communication to the CVS is not working properly and you will not be able to install the software.
If all of that checks out okay and you are still receiving this error, then I would be sure that your host comp
uter has the software installed properly and that the CVS switches are all set to the off position to load the software on there.
If you are still experiencing problems and everything above has been tried and checked out, then let us know. Thank you and good luck with your application.

Michael
