Error in voltage reading

We are using cFP-2010 and AI110. We configured the AI110 channel to 0 to 10 V range. We feed the voltage through the voltage source and read the value in MAX fieldpoint.Upto 1.4 volts the value read by the AI110 shows correct value.if more than 1.4 volts say for 2.5v it is showing 1.5v range only.If we configure the same module for 4 - 20mA current input, the module reading correctly.Kindly suggest how we can use the AI110 card for 0 to 10V range.

Hello,

There maybe a couple of reasons for this problem. First, make sure that you have configured the input channel correctly in MAX. Make sure that you have the channel check box selected, then change the Range to be 0-10V, then click Apply and then click Save. This will apply the new configuration to the FP module. Then, make sure that you have made your external connections correctly. For channel 0 connect the positive input to terminal 1 and the negative to terminal 18. More than likely, you did not have the correct 0-10V range set for the channel that you were measuring.

What ever you explained the same only we implemented and we one more time verified for 0 to 10V range configuaration and got confirm about that. Eventhough we are getting the same error for voltage reading. Please suggest what would be the possible reason and solution.

with best regards

Hello,

Lets make sure that you have the latest driver software for your hardware. Follow this link:
http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C0E29?opendocument&node=132060_US

The latest version is 4.0.1. Second, make sure that you are connected to the correct terminals for a VOLTAGE input not a CURRENT input.

If you are running the latest driver and you have configured and connected your signal correctly, then it is possible that the hardware is faulty. Make sure that you try this voltage measurement on multiple channels so we can determine if only one channel on the FP-AI-110 is faulty.

If a channel is faulty, you will need to call our Phone Support system so the can repair the module for you.
You can do this by going to http://www.ni.com/ask and select Phone NI.
