Failed to load Serial.dll upon reset of cFP module

Every time I reset my cFP-2120 module I get a failed to load serial.dll upon reboot.  I have to go into MAX and reinstall the the serial software onto the cFP module before it will work again.  What can I do to prevent this?  Is my cFP-2120 module damaged?
Thanks

I have had another issue today.  Today when the cFP module was reset it lost all its software and everything had to be reinstalled from MAX.  What can I do to prevent this?

Thanks

Dusty

Dusty,

Is your cFP module losing software when you reset it using the dip switch or when you reboot it (i.e. power cycling it)?

Have you tried reformatting the controller and reinstalling everything as opposed to just restoring the software?

This behavior isn't typical and I'd like to get a little more information before speculating as to what the cause could be.

This happens when I cycle power to the cFP module.  I have completly formatted the drive a couple of times and reinstalled the software.

Dusty,

Unfortunately it sounds like your controller may have a memory problem.  I would recommend that you call in and talk to an engineer to determine if this unit needs to be shipped back for repair.

The easiest way to talk to an engineer will be for you to go to http://www.ni.com/support/  and click on "Ask an Engineer".  On the next page be sure to select "Phone NI" for communication method and "Returning hardware for repair/replacement/calibration" as your question type.

Simon
