Fieldpoint Device Selection panel question...

When configuring a new Fieldpoint Express IO Point, the Fieldpoint Device Selection panel opens to select the IO point I want to use.

Under the View Configurations tab, I have created unique names for my different Fieldpoint configurations.  The first configuration in the list is simply called Fieldpoint, and I no longer use it.

1. It's Remove and Modify buttons are grayed out.  Is it not possible to remove it?

2. If I'm using the old style (not express) VI's, like FP Open.vi, FP Creat Tag.vi, FP Read.vi & FP Write.vi, do I really need to create these different configurations?  Does this configuration name get written back to the IAK file I'm using with FP Open.vi?

(Using Max3.0.2) & LV7.0 under Win2K

Thanks,
Mike

Fieldpoint is the last configuration you saved in MAX and probably cannot be removed.

I don't know whether the names are saved in the iak file (I don't think they do) but you probably don't want to use the old VIs because they're legacy VIs and will probably not be supported at some point. If you want to dynamically build channel names you can do so by concatenating strings and using the strings as FP I/O points.
