FieldpointOPC2. process memory grows until uses all of virtual memory

I am Running Labview RT and communicating with a FP2000 using datasocket vi's. The embedded program on the FP unit runs well, but when I use another vi from the host machine to communicate values, over time the system crashes due to a memory leak. In task manager I can see the FieldpointOPC2 process memory usage growing consistenly to huge values.

This is a known issue with LabVIEW 6.1.1 that was fixed in LabVIEW 7.0. We do have a patch that solves the problem for LabVIEW 6.1.1; however, it is presently not on the web.

Please call in to NI technical support to obtain the patch. The Applications Engineer should be able to email it to you.

Replace the FieldPointOPC2.exe file on your computer (it should be under c:\Program Files\National Instruments\Fieldpoint folder) with the attached. Remzi sent me this. Another work around is to use the lookout server instead of FP. I have some .vis to demonstrate the leak and confirm the fix if you want them, but might not be able to get to them until Tuesday.

A slight correction on my response above: The issue is actually with the OPC server that comes with FieldPoint Explorer 3.0.2, not with LabVIEW 6.1.1. This issue was fixed in FieldPoint 4.0; however, if you wish to stay with version 3.0.2, you will need to call in to the Applications Engineers and have them email you the patch for version 3.0.2.

Which version of FieldpointOPC2.exe did you have initially...I notice that
mine is 3.0.2.177 and the attached version is 3.0.2.178
