Help with Fieldpoint OPC Server

Here I have a Fieldpoint FP-1001 and the Fieldpoint Explorer 2.0 installed in one computer, and i want to use the OPC Server, which came with Fieldpoint Software, with Labview 7.1 as an OPC client from another computer.

The OPC Server was explained in the manual but I couldn't start it. Can anybody help me?

You might want to first upgrade your FieldPoint driver to the latest by going here. After upgrading your driver, check the links below:

Thanks for your help. But I have some questions yet. The link you sent me is for Windows 2000/XP OS, and here the OPC Server, which is connected to the Fieldpoint, runs Win 98. The OPC Client (Labview 7.1 and DSC module) runs Win XP.

Should I upgrade to NI-FieldPoint Version 4.0.1 for Windows 2000/98 J/98/ME/NT/XP or to FieldPoint Explorer Version 3.0.2 for Windows 2000/98 J/98/ME/NT/XP.

And the firmware, should I upgrade too?

What should I take caution before upgrading? What do I have to backup?

Hello Soares,

Since you are using Win 98, you will need to install NI-FieldPoint 4.0.1 instead. 
You can also upgrade the software [not the firmware]. All the links are available at the link shown above. However, I would advise you to try just upgrading the driver to 4.0.1 and if the problem persist, then you can upgrade the software to the latest version that can work on Win 98. It is under the "Run-Time" section of the page.
