The user is allowed to access these LEDs. You should be able to read and write from the LED A, LED B, LED C, and LED D items (the same ones you use in MAX). The LEDs are not meant for triggering, but for just displaying the status or state of your current program. You can find more information about the LEDs and dip switches on your FieldPoint controller from the user manual linked below:
