Hi,
we are using a CFP-1808 in MAX and we configured it using the IAK file. The problem is that every time a new user loggin on this computer we need to reopen Max and reload the Compact Fieldpoint configuration.
I always tought that MAX was a multi-user application... are we doing something wrong ? Is there any way we can bypass this setup so that every new user who doesn't how Max work have the configuration already setup correctly ?
Thanks.
We are using MAX 8.5

Crusader,
What is the path to the .iak file on the computer?

C:\Essais\Tbord\TbordConfig.iak
The path is not related to any username.

Crusader,
If this is running on Windows, I would see if anything in the security settings for the file or the user is messing this up. Is this the application that uses SignalExpress? If so, does anything related to the SignalExpress environment change user to user?

Hi,
thanks for your answer. This application is running under Windows XP SP2. We are not using Signal Express. We are using the CFP using a program that we develop using Measurement Studio. But the application has nothing to do with this since it's in Max that configuration isn't loaded when we log with a new user.
I will try to look at the security setting of the file.
But like I could see from your past answer, Max should in theory handle this type of situation ?
Thanks,

Crusader,
MAX should be able to handle this situation. I have seen a couple of things that can cause problems with applications developed with LabView for field point. One is the file/user permissions. The other relates to the path to the .iak file on the development machine vs. the path on the target machine. I typically try to install the .iak file on the target machine to the exact same path it was stored at on the development machine when the applicaton was created. Not exactly sure if or how this would relate to Measurement Studio.

Hi,
Our file is not located on a shared network location, it is located on the hard drive in a directory where everyone has read/write access.
Does this mean that there is no way of loading automatically the iak file when a new user connect ?

Yes. When you create a new user they will have to add the file. However, the new user should only have to do this one time.
