You may see this for several possible reasons:
1) The FP-1000 has corrupted firmware. If this is the case, then the status LED on the FP-1000 will be blinking. You can use the Firmware Update utilility from National Instruments to attempt to update the firmware. If the utility is unsuccessful, and the FP-1000 does have corrupted firmware, it will need to be returned to NI for reprogramming/repair.
2) FieldPoint Explorer is unable to communicate with the FP-1000. Check the serial cable and baud rate.
3) FieldPoint Explorer is attempting to query the FP-1000 for it's firmware revision (and also the attached modules), but is getting an incomplete response in return. Check the timeout settings on the Comm Resource Configuration window, you may need to increase the
value of the setting, especially if you are at a very slow baud rate.
