What is up with the 1600's?

What is the deal with the 1600's?

I have heard rumors that the 1600's are not reliable.

As an integrator I have to choose hardware for my app's and the last thing I need is a device going off-line half way through a 15 hour test!

If I had not seen this myself using a 1600 on a dedicated LAN I would not be concerned.

I also heard a commnet from a support engineer that made it sound like he did not trust the 1600.

So,

Are the 1600's reliable?

I just exchanged my 1600 for the new FP 1601, tech suypport told me that there was a production problem on only 50 FP 1600 units, but it appears to be a larger problem than that. I have two FP1600s that loose network communication after as little as 15 minutes and require cycling the power to reset. Just call (512)795-8248 to make an RMA request to exchange the FP1600 for the (engineering change replacement) FP 1601 if you have a problem.

Thank you Craig.

Now if I only new a serial number range to suspect, I would be in buisness.

The 1600 is not reliable. I am sending 5 modules back now. Each dropped of the network with the ambiguous, 7 flashes status LED. Apparently they are being replaced with a FP-1601 which will not be available for 2 weeks.
