cFP-2110 controller STATUS LED red blinking after powering up

Hi,

Have any one experienced this before:  once we powered up the control panel to the instrument, the cFP-2110 controller would just start blinking the RED STATUS signal.  I checked the manual on cFP-2110 and it says if the red signal comes off more than 4 times, it is an unrecoverable error.  Any recommendation from the board?

Thanks a lot.

Hi findnorth,

Have you tried reinstalling the software on the cFP or reformatting the disk?

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for reply.  Do you know what's the default IP address for cFP-2110?  Once it is been powered on MAX cannot remote detect it neither.  So we are thinking matching the computer IP to the cFP default IP.

Is there a number I could call NI for support on this?

Best

Hi,

The default IP is 0.0.0.0. Do you see this same behavior when booting into safe mode? Please see the cFP-21xx User Manual page A-2.  You can also contact NI support at www.ni.com/support.

Lynn,

I got this the red LED away by flip the safe mode as in the manual, very helpful!  Now the red flash is gone, MAX can detect it, though I'm not able to activate the instruments through the laptop interface.  Do you have any idea on why this is happening?

Thanks a lot.

Hello findnorth,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by activate?  Generally you must activate the software, but not the hardware.  Is that what you are referring to?

Hi Lynn,

Sorry about the confusion. The problem was resolved.  The labview wouldn't talk to the controller even though under MAX the cFP-2110 was detected.  We had to delete the old device and find through Ethernet IP again, and now it's working.

Thanks for all your help through this.
