Hello Tommy,
Please be sure that your cFP-2120 is either on the same subnet as your host PC or connected directly to it with a crossover ethernet cable. As long as this is the case, you should be able to see the cFP-2120 in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) underneath remote systems and from there, reconfigure the IP address if needed.
Also, if you know the original IP address that you gave the controller, you can ping it to see if anything responds. You can use the command prompt to do this. In windows, go to Start >> Run . . . and type "cmd". In the command prompt window type "ping X.X.X.X" where X.X.X.X represents the IP address. If you get a reply, then something is responding from that IP address and if it times out, then there is nothing there. It is a good practice to check IP addresses before assigning one to the Fieldpoint controller. If you give the controller an IP address that something else on the network has, you may experience strange behavior.
In summary, put the controller on the same subnet or connect to it with a crossover cable. Look for it in the remote systems section of MAX. If you do not see it, go ahead and reset the IP address by flipping the reset dip-switch to "on" and rebooting the controller and turning that dip-switch back off. It should then show up as 0.0.0.0. Choose a new IP address for it, but first ping it to see if anything else has that IP address. If you are unable to do any of these steps, then you may want to consider sending the controller in for repair.
Thanks,
Laura
