fp-1600 can't see i/o modules.

I was able to configure the IP address of the fp-1600. The 'status' led on the fp-1600 went off. However, when the 'find devices' was pressed, it could not see any i/o modules in the same rail.

The 'ready' led on all i/o modules are off.

I've tried resetting the 1600 module by toggling the switch in the bottom with no good results.

What is the problem?

There are several things to look at. First, ensure that the terminal bases are securely plugged in and that there are no bent pins on the terminal bases. Secondly, ensure that you have the latest version of the Firmware, and that it is not corrupt. To get the latest version of the Firmware, go to http:www.ni.com then Support then Drivers and Updates then All Software Versions then FieldPoint. Choose the appropriate Operating System and then Firmware.

You will also want to check the revision of your FP-1600. Look on the back of the module for the part number (represented by Part No. or P/N). The number is 185690X-01. If your module does not have an "E" in place of the "X" in the part number, you will want to RMA the module for an upgrade. Contact National Inst
ruments at http:www.ni.com/ask.
