remove startup.exe from fieldPoint

I have FTP a startup.exe labview program to the startup directory of the fieldPoint.

I need to change the software. FTP commands as far as deleting and sending is not

working. I need to replace the program, but the fieldPoint will not let me. I even changed the

ni-rt.ini to not launch the application at boot up. It appears the program is always running.

Which keeps me from deleting the program.

Restart the FieldPoint with the 7th dip-switch 'on'. Then you should be able to delete it.

Might not be a good solution, but it works. Remember to reset the dip-switch after that.

Perhaps I'd better clarify. 7th dip-switch is the 'start with startup VI disabled'  dip-switch. As I previously said, this type of 'brute-force' method probably isn't the best, but it works and is the method I'm currently using with my own FieldPoint unit.

Using FTP, rename the original startup.exe (startup2.exe) and you will be able to delete it.  Now you should be able to FTP a new startup.exe file whether or not the original file is running.

You probably meant to rename it to not be an exe, i.e., startup.old, for instance.  I suspect renaming it to startup2.exe will still try to run it.
