Error in measurement of PXI-5102

I have two PXI-5102 digitizers in the same chassis and am getting erroneous readings from one of them. Please refer the attached PDF file for screenshots from Scope-SFP. If i input a square wave one of the digitizers shows the correct signal whereas the other only shows "peaks" at the rising and falling edges of the signal. The digitizer passes the Resource test in MAX as well as the calibration test that is part of the example set provided with NI-Scope.

I'm assuming this is a hardware problem. if so, is it something that might be fixable at NI's end and if so how does one proceed ?

OS is XP, Labview version is 7, Scope SFP and NI-Scope are latest versions from NI site, though i've tried with immediate previous versions as
well.

Thanks,

At first glance, it looks like a hardware problem. Just to be sure however, use the test panel in MAX to acquire a waveform. Try it on both digitizers to compare the two. Also, you might try checking your cables to see if you have a bad cable.

Self-cal on the 5102 only corrects for timing drift of the onboard TDC so you wouldn't notice any effect of running self-cal in your example.

Hi:

I tested on the panels in MAX with the same effective result. The two digitizers report different results. Also I used the same cable for the two to eliminate bad cable issues - atleast outside of the actual connector on the PXI.

Is this something that can be looked at by NI or someone local, or is it not worth it ?

Thanks,

Hello,

Another troubleshooting step would be to turn off the PXI chassis, change the slots where the boards are located and take the measurements again.

You can contact the technical support department directly by choosing "Phone NI" and creating a service request over the web at http://www.ni.com/ask. This way we will be able to help you troubleshoot and, if necessary, help you send your board for repair.
