Hello Duchess,
I understand you are thinking of modifying your NI-9205 to replace the spring clips with a DB37 Dsub connector. While I must advise against modifying your hardware in this manner, I would like to help you. Why, may I ask, do you need to change connectors on your 9205? Would fashioning an adapter be an acceptable solution?
Best wishes,
Wallace F.

Hi Duchess,
I understand that you would like for your future systems to have the same wiring documentation. Since, you are inquiring about field upgrading a NI-9205 from spring clip connectors to the 37 pin Dsub connector, can I deduce that your current system uses the Dsub connector? Does your current system use a 9205? If so, what version, the spring terminal or Dsub connector?
Best wishes,
Wallace Frazier

I now have a spring clip version and will go to the DB37 on next and future generation machines. Just wanted them to be alike. But if that is difficult then I can live with it the way it is.
Tnx.

Hello Duchess,
National Instruments does offer the NI-9205 analog input module in both the spring terminal and D-sub connector versions. If you require the D-sub connector in future versions of your systems, and the systems will be used frequently, it might be worth the investment to procure a new module with the desired connector.
Best wishes,
