Find solution to simultaneous multichannel microphone array speech signal acquisition!

I want to build a microphone array speech acquisition system used in PC. 16-32 speech input channel need to be simutaneously acquired (for use in beamforming and delay-and-sum processing) based on microphone outputs. The sampling rate per channel is about 16-20KHz, the digitizer precision is about 8-16bit, the acquired data need to be transfered to host pc via PCI for subsequent off-line processing. I wonder whether someone can provide some products or system integration advice for me. Thanks a lot!

Dear Sir ,
Thanks for using the Developer Exchange.

We have the perfect solution for you. National Instruments has released few months a go a new member of the Dynamic Signal Acquisition family of products. These boards are perfect for Acoustic and Vibration Applications.

The NI-4472 board is available for the PXI and PCI bus. Each board has 8 channels with simultaneous acquisition and 8 independent 24 bits Delta-Sigma A/D converters.

Here are other characteristics of the board:

120 dB dynamic range
45 kHz alias-free bandwidth
102.4 kS/s maximum sampling rate per channel
Software-configurable ICP conditioning
Software-configurable AC/DC coupling
Eight simultaneously sampled analog input channels

You can also synchronize multiple cards. Ex
panding easily the number of channels of your system.

If you have further questions feel free to send me an e-mail: omar.de.andrade@ni.com

Best regards

We also have a canned solution that may be of interest, that uses the NI boards mentioned above. It's called Sound Camera.
It's available as software only if you've already bought the hardware.

I can send you a PDF if you are interested.
