PXI-5122 Disable AGC

Is it possible to disable AGC (automatic gain control)?

Hi,

The 5122 does not use the AGC.

Of the high-speed digitizers, only the NI-5620 uses the AGC. For more information check out the NI High-Speed Digitizers Help file at the document titled "NI 5620/5621 Properties and Default Values".

Hope this helps!

I hate to bring this up again, and I admit I'm a complete newbie to this, but our NI scope (PXI-5122) is definitely doing AGC to signals less than 0.05 V or so.  We need a linear response from 0-1 V.  Does anyone know if this was added in an update over the years and how to turn it off now?

SaraL,

The PXI-5122 does not have automatic gain control.

Providing a few more details about your application and how you've configured the digitizer can help us understand the behavior that you're seeing:

  • What range are you using?
  • Can you describe the signal you are digitizing?
  • What signal conditioning are you using?  AC or DC coupling?  50 Ohm or 1MOhm impedance? Any filters enabled?
  • Can you provide a screenshot(s) illustrating the behavior?
