PXI-5620 Problem in Linking with the PXI-5600

Dears,

we face now a Problem with the PXI-5620 Digitizer, we have a Chassis PXIe-1062Q Including RFSG (5610 and 5421) and RFSA (5600 and 5620), attached (Number 1) You can Find a Snap Shot From the MAX Devices and Interfaces, You can See that the 5620 is Different From the Other Devices, the Problem is when we Trying to Link the 5600 to the 5620 we Cannot Find the 5620 in the List of Devices, and Also see the Attachement (Number 2) You Can Find that the Device has not Test Panet or Self Test ?, is this Defected Digitizer?, However we already Linking the 5610 with the 5421.

Please we need the Reply ASAP.

Thanks

Hi Ahmed,

The PXI-5620 is a legacy device that is built on Traditional-DAQ rather than DAQmx, so configuring it with a 5600 to become an NI 5660 Vector Signal Analyzer is slightly different than configuring a 5600 with a 5142 digitizer (those two make up the NI 5661 VSA) or the 5601 with the 5622 digitizer and 5652 LO Source (those make up the NI 5663 VSA). Traditional DAQ devices do not have the same interface as NI-DAQmx devices do in MAX, which is why there are not selections for Test Panels or Self Test. For the NI 5660, you do not need to link the modules in MAX like you do for the newer devices (both RFSG and RFSA).

I would suggest following through the NI 5660 Getting Started Guide to familiarize yourself with setting up the NI 5660 VSA device. Section 7: "Configuring and Programming the NI 5660", will probably be of most interest for you (beginning on page 9). You can find the Getting Started Guide here on our website.

For a similar experience to the NI 5670 Vector Signal Generator that you are already using (5610 and 5421), you would need a PXI-5142 digitizer to link with the 5600, in order to make an NI 5661 VSA with Digital Downconversion. Beyond the ease of use with the RFSA driver that this device will provide, it has greatly increased performance, especially in terms of the Onboard Signal Processing that it can perform.
