Problem with sine wave on NI-PCI-5411

Hallo,

I am new in using Labview.

I am trying to generate a sine wave and a DC signal using the NI-PCI-5411 AWG with a certain frequency (f) for a given amount of time (t). If I am not mistaken, the number of loops that the card should generate for the waveforms is calculated by : frequency x time.

For this task, I use the Create Binary Waveform and the Arbitrary Sequence mode because I need to generate the sine wave and the DC direct after another.

So far I have obtained the output waveforms (the sine and the DC) that I wanted on the oscilloscope. However the generated sine waves look strange because the negative portion of the waveform is 'dissected' into 'small square waveforms'.

Can someone please explain to me this scenario??
Thanks alot in advance.

hallo,

without the VI it hard to say anything about your problem. I think you made a mistake in the configuration of the device. In the LV example finder you can find an examples for Arb. Sequence Mode. Go to example finder and type in the search field of the index tap 'fgen' than you will get the niFgen_arb_sequence_example.vi. Maybe it helps.
