Reccomend a digitizer for my application

I need a simple solution for converting a single analog signal from an avalanche photodiode. I will be interfacing with a laptop. I want to measure the single voltage signal from a BNC electrical out on the APD. I want to either use my laptops serial port (RS232 or the usb input) What is the simplest system you have for this and least expensive. I'd also like to use a software such as Labview for processing.

We need more information to properly answer this question. The most important pieces are:
1) What bandwidth do you need? APDs come in a lot of variations (NOTE: don't look at the APDs bandwidth, look at the requirements of your experiment, otherwise you may end up paying for a lot more digitizer than you need).
2) What input impedance do you need on the digitizer?
3) What kind of transfer rate from the digitizer to the host computer do you need (how many points and scans per second do you need)?
4) Can you use a PCMCIA interface, or are you limited to USB and RS232?
