Will driver (V2.8) for Scope card NI-5102 work with Labview V5.1

As mentioned in a previous post, I have an old application using Labview Test Executive that needs to be updated since NI scope card was changed from ISA to PCI. I would like to know if anyone out there is using a NI-5102 with driver version 2.8 and Labview version 5.1

Also, I have seen something in the knowledge base that indicates you can mass compile the Labview Test Executive 5.1 in the Labview6i environment. If this is the case would it be possible to mass compile the test exec vi's in Labview 7.1 and then build an executable Test Exec that would run with version 7.1 vi's?

Thanks in advance,

Hello Howard,

As for the NI-Scope driver, version 2.8 would not work as the minimum requirement for this specific driver is LabVIEW 7.0.\\

Although NI-Scope ships with VIs intended for use with LabVIEW 7.0 or higher, these VIs can be saved to an older format (like LabVIEW 5.1).  After saving to an older format, some additional tweaking would be required, but the NI-Scope VIs can be made to work in LabVIEW 5.1.

Howard, you mention mass-compiling in LabVIEW 7.1  Do you have access to this version of LabVIEW?

Hi Howard,

You should be able to mass compile your test executive VIs under LabVIEW 7.1 and run them with LabVIEW 7.1 VIs. However, note that Test Executive toolkit was replaced by NI Test Stand containing many new capabilities and features. You can try the evaluation copy of Test Stand here and more information on the product here.

Good luck with your application and have a great day!

Yes, I have access to version 5.1, 6.0 and 7.1.  As mentioned in a previous reply, I should be able to mass compile the Labview Test Exec files and run it under V7.1.  I plan to try this next.

Thanks,

Shakhina,

I tried mass compiling the 5.1 test exec llb's in Labview 7.1, and when it was done the error report listed many vi's that were bad. When I tried to run the test exec it was unable to run since it could not load a number of callback routines (which I assume is related to the bad files reported).

Did I misunderstand your last reply?  Can I actually upgrade the 5.1 Test Executive (by mass compile) to work in the 7.1 environment?

Hello Howard,

Attached is an older NI-Scope driver than version 2.8. However, the functionality used for the NI-5102 is identical in both drivers as this product is fairly old. The readme file describe the steps to successfully installing the NI Scope driver for LabVIEW 5.1. Please let me know if you have any questions.
