FM demod/mod NI Week Demo

I remember seeing some neat IF-RIO demos at NI Week this year.

The two that come to mind are:
  1. Demodulate a broadcast FM station.  Encode a character string into the signal.  Remodulate the FM signal.  Pick the signal up on an FM radio.
  2. Input a persons voice and do some interesting signal processing on it.  Output it again.
These involved examples (and others that might be out there) could go a long way in helping see what the IF-RIO can do.  And how to make it do them.

Could we get access to them?

You can download the demo for the NIWeek FM example here:

I haven't been able to get the code for the manilulation of a person's voice.

Thanks Jerry, that was just what I was looking for.  There's a wealth of info in that demo.

Is there any info on how and what antennas were attached to the IF-RIO?

There was nothing special about the antenna.  I'm not sure that they were even specifically for the FM frequency band, but they worked well enough.

Has anyone been able to run the FM demo?  When I loaded the host VI LabView asked for the locations of numerous subVI's used in the host block diagram.  I was able to locate several of them but there were a few I was not able to locate.  Has anyone else encountered these problems?

Thanks,

Hi guys,

I am new about NI-5640R , I am trying to run NIWeek FM example but I couldn't. Problem is some VIs which are

1)'Ni5640R HW Execution Ref.ctl'

2)'mod_Convert to Bits.vi'

3)'mod_Symbols to Bits.vi'

 are missing.

Can you guys help me?It might be a silly question, but like I said I pretty new on this topic.

Hi Ahmet

Do you have the Modulation Toolkit for LabVIEW installed?  I'm not sure, but I think those two VIs come from that toolkit.

What version of LabVIEW are you using? Are you able to compile any of the shipping examples for the NI 5640R FPGA examples?

Hi,

First, thank you for your quick reply.

I can compile and run all  the NI-5640R FPGA examples.I am using Labview 8.0, and I am not sure If I have the modulation Toolkit installed. How can I understand that??

Hi

It turns out the zip file you downloaded is missing files.....

I uploaded a new zip file with all the subVIs.  Please download the new zip file and try again.  Sorry.

If you look in MAX, there is a software tab that should give you a list of all the SW installed on your computer.
