pci 5640 IFRIO

hi my name is valli,

                                i am working with PCI5640 IF RIO FPGA board. THE analog output of this board is a DAC..... if i try to give analog signal does this have the capability to digitize it to and reconvert it to analog on the output side or do i have to feed the sampled signalto the DAC

Do you have the documentation for the module?   If not, you can find information concerning this in the NI PCI-5640R help file.  Here is a link to another message board topic that has the NI PCI-5640R information:

I guess that depends on what you want to digitize, if the analog signal you have to digitize is a baseband waveform, such as a sine wave, the module isn’t suited to this input.  If you have an analog signal modulates onto a carrier signal, you can acquire this signal with the ADCs, and down convert to an IQ waveform, which can be regenerated.

The NI PCI-5640R software comes with examples that can help you get started.  Two that I can think of are the ni5640R Input and Output example and the ni5640R Frequency Translation example.  These are installed in the …\LabVIEW\examples\FPGA\NI-5640R\ directory.
