Hi,
I received Labview 8.6 last week from the french NI office and I wanted to upgrade my system which includes a PCI-5640r card.
So I installed LV8.6+FPGA8.6+ NI-RIO3.1
However, the PCI-5640r driver namely, NI5640r1.2, does not support LV8.6. I found on ftp.ni.com the newer version NI56401.30d8
but it seems to be a beta version. When I installed it, the setup program strongly recommends to upgrade to LV8.61 (but the NI
support told me this version is not yet commercialized!).
With this driver : - I get compilation errors on the FPGA examples (e.g. 5640 Analog Input(FPGA).vi).
- I can neither found the driver VIs for host processing nor the host processing examples I used from NI5640r1.2.
The solution proposed by my NI support is to downgrade to LV8.5+FPGA8.5+NI-RIO2.4+NI5640r1.2.
Does anybody know how to use LV8.6 with my PCI-5640r or when It will be possible to do so (with a new stable driver version)?

Hello Max
I’m sorry for the trouble you have gone through. And also that the NI 5640R is not yet supported on LabVIEW 8.6.
The installer that you used is an early development version, and as you saw, does not support the driver method of programming the module, and has compile issues.
A released version of the installer and support for the NI PCI-5640R on LabVIEW 8.6 is still a few months away. Unfortunately, the solution you were previously given for continue to use the NI PCI-5640R is correct, to continue on with LabVIEW 8.5.

Max,
A driver supporting LabVIEW 8.6 has been released today.
