Connection lost with server ik second ethernetcard is connected to switch

Hello all,

I have a problem at work.
Situation:
PC at work connected to a server.
When I connect the second ethernet card to a switch the connection gets lost with the server.
note: when I connect the switch only 1 wire to the switch is connected nothing else.

When I disconnect the switch, the PC will connect to the server.

Anybody any ideas how to solve this?

Thank you for your post. It is difficult to say what the problem is, one thing what pops in mind is (but maybe I understood your post wrong) that through the switch another network device with the same PC is added to your network. So what is connected to the switch?

If you start your PC locally are there any problems with the switch?

Are all devices on a static address?

I'm not sure if I will be able to help you much further; there are forums with better experts on these topics (networking).
