Did you mean:

how can I connect LabView with a PLC S7-300?

Hola

Protocol Error(1): No response from PLC.

Me apena decirlo pero necesito una explicacion para bobos, que sea paso a paso de como configurar el opc server para poder comunicar mi plc con labview.

Muchas Gracias

Dear Berni,
I'm very interested in your experiment with PRODAVE. I've tryed to use PRODAVE drivers but I can´t do it because labwindows doesn't recognize the prototipes. Did you finally obtain any result?

PC->LabView->Modbus->SerialPort->RS232/RS485 converter->S7-200 port 0->Standart Modbus functions in PLC program.
No OPC servers, no special interfaces, you only need to buy RS232/RS485 conveter if you dont have one.

Hello every body !

Can someone tell me if  I can take  what GEDASL said for S7-200 to use it on S7-300 ?   I mean I don't have any Profibus card ,any OPC server ......... I just have a RS-232 / RS - 485 Converter and I would like to exchange datas between Labview and my S7-300 . I must have the anwser rapidly because it's for my training period .

Thank you very much and sorry for my English mistakes.

Best regards to all the members !

First, you need to figure out if your PLC has the HMI adapter or the PC adapter.

Here is a link that describes what to do in each situation.

Hope this helps.

hello  Rick K .

Firstly thanks for your response ( do we say response or anwser ? )

I finally use an USB-MPI adapter , so I'ts a PC - Adapter . But till know I can't exchange anything and any data between  my  PLC 5 s7-300 ) and my PC ( windows 2000/Xp   - Labview 7 ) . Some say that I need an  OPC Server , because Labview is an OPC client I think . Do you know something about it ?

PS :             PC ( windows xp/2000 and labview )                  -------------USB-MPI Adapter------------                   SIEMENS SIMATIC s7-300

what more ( soft or  hard ware )  do I need???????????

 helllllllllllllllllllllp !!!!!!!!!!!!!Smiley Happy

Thanks !

Yes you need an OPC server for that PLC setup. In addition, to make LabVIEW an OPC client you need LabVIEW DSC module.
