0xc000005 When Trying to Install ni4882273.exe for the GPIB-USB-HS

I am trying to install ni4882273.exe on a PC with 32 bit Windows XP Pro but I keep getting two boxes with the error message 0xc0000005 whenever the installer starts.

I have also tried ni488227.exe with the same result.

I have installed the software successfully on a different PC with the same OS.

Can anyone help?

Hello wiztiz,

I've done some searching and this is not an issue with the driver or something on our end. The error is caused by something specific about the computer, Windows, or some other piece software on the machine.

The following link I found extremely informative and is the best single resource I found about the error, though many other websites discuss it as well.

0xc0000005 Error: Solutions and Fixes

I hope this helps give you some direction.

Hi Cole,

I looked at the web page but I wasn't able to get any of the suggestions to work.

Our IT guy suggested unzipping the file then running the installer.  For whatever reason, that did the trick.

Thanks for your reply.

Keith

I had the exact same problem trying to install NIDAQmx software.  This solved it for me as well.
