I'm having a problem communicating with a device over GPIB with the following setup:
MacBook Pro, OS X v10.5.5, LabVIEW 7.1, 488.2 v2.5.5, ENET/100
GPIB Explorer finds the enet/100 and the troubleshooting wizard indicates the enet/100 successfully completed the tests, but when I run my VI it doesn't communicate with the instrument. GPIB Read has the error "NI-488: Error connecting to driver or device".
This same VI, version of LabVIEW, running on a different MacBook Pro with OS X v10.4.11 and 488.2 v2.0 does not have any errors and works properly.
Is there a compatibility issue with OS X 10.5.5 and the 488.2 v2.5.5? Anyone else had this problem?

Hey Whitworth,
Depending on the community for answers on this question will be your best bet. If you look in the readme.txt file for NI-488.2 v2.5.5 here you can see the disclaimer that states it should work with older versions of LabVIEW but was only tested and verified for LabVIEW 8.2, 8.5, and 8.6. What you may be seeing here is a particular caveat not found prior to release due to not testing that particular type of system setup. Is there any reason that could prevent you from installing an earlier version of the NI-488.2 driver just to see if this can help your situation? I would recommend rolling the NI-488.2 driver back to v2.0 for testing purposes to see if this helps your scenario. You can find this driver here.
Let me know if this helps!
Thanks,
