Hi all,
Does anyone know if I upgrade the driver for 488.2 from version 2 to higher if it will affect my connection to and API 3000 mass spectrometer. I am using Analyst to run the instrument.
Thanks for you time
Matthew

Version 2.0 is for an RT operating system. Is that what you are using? You should also provide details on the exact GPIB controller you have. Check the readme of the version you plan to download to verify your controller is supported. I have no idea what Analyst is. You should probably contact the vendor about the programming details.
In most cases, upgrading the driver should be transparent. The GPIB protocol itself and communication to the instrument is going to be the same.

We have been using windows XP(SP3) which i believe is not RT-OS? We have the instrument connected using the PCI-GPIB card which seems to be supported by the later drivers. Analyst is just a program like lab-view that controls the instruments once they are connected.
Thanks for your help

Updated the driver and everything seems to be working properly now.
As the API 3000 is about 10 yrs old the only connections it has are IEEE, RS-232 and Aux I/O. I was hoping to also add an Agilent 1100 binary hplc and a CTC PAL autosampler in connection to my computer what would be the best way. We have an Aux I/O cable and I have been assured it worked before. Does anyone know how this works at all
Thanks again
