Anritsu Sig Gen/ CVI GPIB issues

Just recently had an issue come up with software and hardware that were working fine in the past. The hardware came back to us for upgrades and this issue showed up. I don't believe there were any changes in software or hardware but I just got put on the project so I can't say for sure.

Anyway, we're using executable code developed in LabWINDOWS / CVI, version 7.1 I believe. We seem to get errors when our code goes to initialize the Anritsu MG369 signal generators. We also run into errors when our s/w commands the units to perform a self test. Both units fail their self tests.

However, I can successfully initiate a RST and self test (TST) on the units when I command them from NI MAX.

As the equipment is old (10 years old, perhaps), the thought occurred that maybe our GPIB interface software had been upgraded and for some reason isn't compatible. (We are interfacing to the units with an NI ENET to GPIB box, btw).

I tried installing several different versions of NI 488.2 (v1.7, v2.1, v2.2, v2.3, v2.4) but the self test still fails and the units won't initialize on command. (Is it worth trying NI 488.2M?)

I and some of my collegues have checked our code against code from a working test rack and that's all good.

Has anyone had a similar experience and/or might be able to offer some suggestions??

Another piece of info which may or not be of help: The units which are failing to init and/or self test are on GPIB 2 bus. Items on the GPIB 1 bus work perfectly.

Well, thanks in advance for any info/suggestions. Sorry for the long post.

Regards,

JT

Hello jtjtjt

Have you tried switching the units failing the test to GPIB 1 bus just for testing?
