BIOS Error 1806 with IBM NetVista Computer and PCI-232/8 serial card

Card works fine in older Gateway machine running Win98. Will not even boot in the IBM. PCI-232/2 card of same era works just fine in the IBM. Cannot boot PC at all with 8-port card installed due to 1806 BIOS error.

Have tried almost all BIOS settings available w/regards to PnP, interrupts, etc. Also have latest BIOS from IBM.

Is there any documentation that describes what error 1806 means?.

I only found one reference on the web when I searched in Google:

Netfinity 3500 M10 - Flash BIOS update diskette version 1.11

The last bullet in the summary of changes for Version 1.1 mentions the error.

This is not the same system you have, but I guess you could contact IBM for more information on the error code.
