Can not install IVI Driver for Agilent 34401

I wanted to install the IVI Driver for the Agilent 34401A Multimeter on several Win 2000 PCs. The IVI Engine 1.83 and the Basic IVI Class Driver was installed.
The installation Routine broke immediatly after start with the error "Setup has detected a traditional, legacy or third party driver....pleaso do uninstall this first".
I tried to install the IVI Drivers for some other devices and they worked fine.

Is there any way to get the driver installed ??

Oliver,

The error message you described occurs when the installer detects existing driver files. While you may not have directly installed these files, they were probably installed by other software.

The best solution is to search your computer (Start -> Find) for files matching hp34401a.* . Then, delete those existing files. Finally, you will be able to successfully install the latest IVI driver for the 34401a.
