Communication to Keithley 2000

Iam trying to communicate with Keithley 2000 multimeter using LabVIEW.I have a NI GPIB USB HS,its drivers installed in PC with LABVIEW 2010 and Kethley 2000 drivers too.When I configured in MAX and try to scan for Instruments I got an error showing "Instruments not found" can anyone help me regarding the error??

Well, we have to start with the stupid things.

1.  Is the instrument on?

2.  Is the instrument setup to use the 488.2 bus?

3.  Are there other instruments also conencted?  If so, do you have duplicate GPIB addresses?

It should be noted that presence or lack thereof of LabVIEW drivers is irrelevant to MAX seeing the instrument.
