Connecting to Agilent 8753 D

Hi,

I am having trouble connecting to Agilent 8753 D network analyzer via Agilent's GPIB to USB adapter. After Installing IOLibSuite_15_1_12008.0 the light on the GPIB to USB adapter turned green (drivers installed properly). Also, I was able to successfully connect to the instrument (analyzer) though one of the agilent utilities.

However, I cannot connect through LabVIEW 7.1.  Here is the link to the lib that NI provides:

http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9431659CE034080020E748...

Normally I would create a control for Initialize.vi for the VISA name. On the front panel I would hit refresh and see something like GPIB0::10::INSTR This time, GPIB0 does not even show up and I only see COM3 and LPT1

Thanks a lot for the help

First, you have make sure the controller and instrument is listed in MAX. Start by making sure that you have the latest Agilent IO Libraries and the latest version of NI-VISA. Then, you need to enable tulip support in MAX.

There have been numerous posts about getting an Agilent controller to work with NI software. You could try doing a search for the Agilent controller/adapter part number.
