So you posted in the correct board but did not provide any of the necessary details I asked for. Why not?

For the physical connections, it is RS-232 to the pumps, Etherbet with oscilloscope. There is no thermcouple yet, we only need to pre-set some ports.

So as long as you have a serial port and ethernet connection on your computer, you are good to go with those.

For the thermocouple, you may need to buy a DAQ board.  Something like the USB-6000 should work for you.

Google 'USB to Serial' if you need multiple ports. NI has a product line as well. http://www.ni.com/serial/

Besides the 6000 and the entire line of multifunction DAQ boards, there is the cDAQ modules: http://sine.ni.com/np/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/daq/lang/en/pg/1/sn/n17:daq,n24:cDAQ,n36:15/

You really need to provide more details in order to be more specific. Number of channels, desired resolution, etc.
