Error 0xBFFF8016...... Not able to select driver

In trying to set-up a firewire camera I receive this error in MAX:  "Error 0xBFFF8016  The devie selected is not currently associated with either the Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 driver or the NI-IMAQdx driver.  Right click the device to select which driver is in use."

I then right click and am unable to select either of the NI-IMAQ drivers specified in the error message although they do appear in the drivers list.

I've tried switching drivers in the device manager to no avail.

The camera is an AVT Guppy and the computer is running Vista.

Has anyone encountered this issue or have any advice?

Hi DrewH11,

What version of the drivers are you using?  Is this 32 or 64 bit Vista?  Take a look at this knowledgebase: Which NI Vision Products Support Windows Vista?  It discusses what versions of our vision products will work with Vista.  Has this worked in the past or are you getting it to work for the first time?

Jason,

Thank you for the help.  I was able to update my drivers to the appropriate Vista 32bit ones and it worked great.
