For Anyone that has some Time to Spare

Again thanks for the reply gt. The paper you have is not the one you can use to program. Attached is the correct version.

One thing I realised that earlier this month, I contacted the manufacturer for code exampes and the programming manual for the device. They provided me with the OLD manual (version 3A rather than 3C). They said that they hadn't written a new manual for the new device since the programming procedure is all the same. After your post I made a search on google and FOUND the ACTUAL programming manual (for version 3C). While majority of commands are the sae, the LOW LEVEL GPIB communication and many more CLEVER commands were developed for new units. This should now make it much more easier to programm the device. Manufacturers reply was most missleading.

I will now continue to implement the new commands and communication methods descovered in the manual (attached) and repost the final version again.

Than you

Kas

Hello Again.

Based on the new Manual, attached is the new version.

I've tested the program with the Hardware and so far it seems to be working.

The only thing I noticed is its speed. Basically it works but its not flowless. It seems to be putting quite a strain on the PC, especially when the "Load Parameters" vi pops up (its a fearly old PC though).

Again, I haven't payed any attention to erros, I just made sure that the error cluster goes through as many functions as possible.

Nearly forgot. I need to add a button on the Main VI for the user to PRINT the graph when the measurment is finished.

I have no idea how to implement this. I might be able to figure this out, but due to time contraint, I'm hoping someone can quickly add this extra function. This way I can concentrate on implementing the VNA ccode.

Again, any criticism is most welcomed. Its the only way I learn :).

Thanks

Kas

P.S. I just realised that the File Size is larger than 5 MB. I'll upload the file in Rapidshare and post the link back here.

Hello Kas,

Sorry I haven't replied in a while.  I was out of the office.  I had seen that you had your primary code working and could not help with your other questions unless I was at my work PC.

I was hoping someone else from the community would reply with some of minor issues that appeared, but it looks like no one had a chance.

I believe that your testing period is over and that the project is complete.  Is there somethere else that you have a question on for this project?

somehow the testing worked. But I was wondering if its OK to continue on this, for the pure purpose of learning and upgrading the software to a newer & better version. This way it'll serve as a learning experience for me, and the department gets to have a much more robust software than the one I've given. But now I am not time constrained like I was.

Thanks

Kas
