GPIB-422CV configuration switches ?

Hi,
I have to reconfigure an old GPIB-422CV GPIB/RS422 converter, however the manual was lost... Anyone having a copy of the manual, at least of the 16 dip switches ? Or do the have the same function than the newer GPIB-232CVA unit ?

Many thenks !

Robert,

Could you provide all the serial numbers, assembly numbers, and model numbers that appear on the unit? This is definitely a rather old device, and I want to make sure that I find the right manual for you.

Of course :

Model GPIB-422CV,256K
S/N:006369
P/N:180465-02
REV:B5

Power switch and leds on front side, gpib and RS422 connectors on the back, 2x8 dip switches within the box...

Many thanks for your help !

Robert

Robert,

Just to let you know, I've passed this along. Apparently we have no PDF available for your model (you do indeed have an old one), so our technical writers are searching through their "library" for this one. Good question, and I'll get you the info ASAP!

Robert,

I have a manual for your device in front of me. The serial configuration switches are rather involved, could you tell me what settings you need and I can look them up? Alternately, we can try to get in contact via another channel and I can have this manual shipped to you.

Robert,

I have verified that the dip switch settings on your unit are exactly the same as the GPIB-232CV, whose manual you can find linked below:

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/320109.pdf

The only other switch configuration is for the jumpers W4, W5, and W6 on the 422 unit. These are set shorting pins 2-3 from the factory, but should all 3 be changed to short pins 1-2 if you desire the unit to be compatible with the Macintosh serial port. (I'm assuming that this is the Macintosh serial port circa 1993).

Thanks for your patience,

Sincerely yours,
Robert
